Eric Soned showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 14 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Radu Fetea who took care of the corner kick. Radu Fetea made a great header on Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Morgan Möllgren kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Nickolai Nickerson came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 25th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Radu Fetea. After 26 played minutes Étoile Sportive Du Sahel got a freekick which was hit by Allan Olofsson. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eric Soned narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 31 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Eric Soned was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nickolai Nickerson to strike the kick off in the second half. Carlo Ancelotti hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Carlo Ancelotti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nickolai Nickerson in the 64th minute of the match. If Carlo Ancelotti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel made a substitution. Valentin Elg replaced Radu Fetea. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlo Ancelotti in the 75th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nickolai Nickerson in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nickolai Nickerson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Étoile Sportive Du Sahel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nickolai Nickerson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
