After 23 minutes ŞAHŞEHRİYAR FK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Facundo Cadaval managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddy Rüegsegger in the 30th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Taha Günden was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Alberto Tafalla hit a great ball. Felix Luque hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Hasan Kabakchi came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taha Günden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 57thth minute of the game Joel Gaona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ŞAHŞEHRİYAR FK's Taha Günden was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Taha Günden in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lorenzo Cazalla charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lorenzo Cazalla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla got a free kick in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hasan Kabakchi in the 62nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taha Günden came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. After 81 played minutes ŞAHŞEHRİYAR FK got a freekick which was hit by Beyhan Gençoğlu. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunter Waller, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddy Rüegsegger in the 85th minute of play.
