The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfons Mattsson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Quetzal Flyers Hammers getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Alfons Mattsson hit a great ball. Georg Giliusson came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 8th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Georg Giliusson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th minute, Daniel Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Georg Giliusson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play forced Quetzal Flyers Hammers's goalkeeper Georg Giliusson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georg Giliusson having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rikard Sjögren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Georg Giliusson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 36th minute, Patrik Johansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patrik Johansson struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quetzal Flyers Hammers. After 42 played minutes Quetzal Flyers Hammers got a freekick which was hit by Alfons Mattsson. In the 43rd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georg Giliusson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georg Giliusson having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Georg Giliusson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Georg Giliusson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 65th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute of the game, Felix Montenegro landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ragnar Sundberg during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ecuador made a substitution. Diego Mancebo replaced Felix Montenegro. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Georg Giliusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador played a much better game than Quetzal Flyers Hammers and deserved their victory. The Quetzal Flyers Hammers players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
