After 10 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barry Kent in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. The supporters of WKS Śląsk Wrocław booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind WKS Śląsk Wrocław's goalkeeper Volkan Ünalmış, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the WKS Śląsk Wrocław defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Volkan Ünalmış. The WKS Śląsk Wrocław fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Volkan Ünalmış should have stopped the shot. In the 44th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dobromir Porajewski hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th match minute, WKS Śląsk Wrocław was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barry Kent to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Volkan Ünalmış in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. WKS Śląsk Wrocław's Volkan Ünalmış proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save WKS Śląsk Wrocław from getting a goal against them. 74 minutes into the match, WKS Śląsk Wrocław's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Volkan Ünalmış reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Tanek Podwojski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volkan Ünalmış saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Volkan Ünalmış made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in WKS Śląsk Wrocław's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Volkan Ünalmış came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing WKS Śląsk Wrocław to leave the ground with a draw.
