The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barcelona Sporting Club's goalkeeper Xulio Prats, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from De-la-Cruz Avecilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diego Olasagasti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xulio Prats prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Lautaro Navarro managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Barcelona Sporting Club's Pedro Artigue fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 22 minutes into the game, when Ivan Navarro put in a rough tackle. When Jairón Santillan fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barcelona Sporting Club's protests and gave Jairón Santillan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Barcelona Sporting Club getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Jairón Santillan hit a great ball. When Diego Olasagasti fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After 33 played minutes, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Xulio Prats came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. In the 44th minute De-la-Cruz Avecilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Artigue in the 45th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Artigue got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Artigue stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
