After a defensive mix-up in The Dalwhinnie Boys's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harm Rooy came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mirko Blank in the 18th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommie Jorna, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ger Mols went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 30th minute Mirko Blank shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillermo Mariano charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Mariano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
