Nikolai Ellelund took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Wladimir Vinthen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after The Potters's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Wladimir Vinthen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikolai Ellelund in the 21st minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Wladimir Vinthen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franck Parfelt in the 29th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franck Parfelt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Buster Langlet hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 42 played minutes The Potters got a freekick which was hit by Buster Langlet. Wladimir Vinthen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vilmar Murillo to make the kick off. The Potters's Wladimir Vinthen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 51st minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after The Potters's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Agustín Saelices got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wladimir Vinthen quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Vilmar Murillo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ecuador's goalie and right to Luca Langoni. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ecuador's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After 65 played minutes The Potters got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Ostersen. 66 minutes into the match, The Potters's goalkeeper Wladimir Vinthen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Wladimir Vinthen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ingvar Ostersen hit a great ball. Luca Langoni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere.
