Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Emanuel Ogășanu made the kick off which started today's match. In the 4th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Titz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Sydney FC defense, Mariano Lacasa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastian Titz. The Sydney FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastian Titz should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Önder Cebi in the 9th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Mariano Lacasa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Lacasa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastian Titz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an all-out effort, Sydney FC's Thiago Pliego threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Emanuel Ogășanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 21st minute, Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Önder Cebi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guillermo Fontirroig in the 38th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Titz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mariano Lacasa went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 45 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Sebastian Titz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mariano Lacasa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Ogășanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Günter Vogelweide, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Sydney FC's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Titz came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Guy Rothe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sydney FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guy Rothe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thiago Pliego breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Günter Vogelweide received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ferdinand Mendy who took care of the corner kick. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Ogășanu in the 73rd minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Titz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 83 minutes of play, Sydney FC's Emanuel Ogășanu made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Ogășanu in the 86th minute of play. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Ogășanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Sebastian Titz made a huge save. Chile were awarded a corner in the 96th minute after Sydney FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. When Chile's Mariano Lacasa in the 97th minute got a chance for a shot 97th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sydney FC's goalie prevented a goal. The Chile supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chile would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
