In the 12th minute Stefan Bury shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Nicolescu in the 16th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Liverpool Hillsborough 96's David Nicolescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 30th minute. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Nicolescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Nicolescu in the 36th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Radowit Wawrukiewicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. When David Nicolescu came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Liverpool Hillsborough 96 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Nicolescu couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute of the match Costa Rica got a corner. Liverpool Hillsborough 96's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Tasis ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Axel Tasis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Emil Trojanowski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Alexander Carballo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Emil Trojanowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Axel Tasis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emil Trojanowski having to make a save. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wlodzimierz Gibowski in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Radowit Wawrukiewicz hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute, Wlodzimierz Gibowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Nicolescu in the 59th minute of play. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radowit Wawrukiewicz in the 79th minute of the match. After 88 minutes, Abel Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Liverpool Hillsborough 96 players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Liverpool Hillsborough 96 booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute, Wlodzimierz Gibowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. 4-0 became the score in the 94th minute when David Nicolescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Liverpool Hillsborough 96 walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
