When Vitinho Garcia fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villaverde Celeste Clube's protests and gave Vitinho Garcia a yellow card for diving instead. Alfredo Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sixto Xabier, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Sportivo Fernet Branca's goalkeeper Fidel Su had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frederico Godoi. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Frank Sten scored 5-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fidel Su, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sportivo Fernet Branca's Alfredo Mazuste was substituted for Sixto Xabier. After 69 played minutes Villaverde Celeste Clube got a freekick which was hit by Giuliano David. Alfredo Mazuste kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Alfredo Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Mazuste in the 74th minute of play. With a little luck, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Alfredo Linares got control of the ball when Fabio Hanni tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fidel Su showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico Godoi in the 92nd minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Villaverde Celeste Clube fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sportivo Fernet Branca had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
