Venezuela's Tomas Illescas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ma Yong Jun in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Arvin Svanberg sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Arvin Svanberg took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Mariano during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 47 minutes in the game, Slawomir Majak got a free kick from a good position and fired away a shot. The shot didn't have enough spin and went out of bounds to the left of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Karen FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Karen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Ma Yong Jun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Slawomir Majak, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute.
