Evaristo Velasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of the match. Edgard Polentzi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 28th minute Fabricio Rencio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Rencio, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Evaristo Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Fabricio Rencio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Sevenants in the 58th minute of play. Evaristo Velasco made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th play minute Cristian Sancho came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Evaristo Velasco. 1-2. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Rencio, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Evaristo Velasco made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Fabricio Rencio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Fabricio Rencio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cachiyuyo EAS's Dito Sena was substituted for Fabricio Rencio. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Evaristo Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Cachiyuyo EAS getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Celedonio Xabel hit a great ball. In the 91st minute Edgard Polentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Celedonio Xabel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner ended in Elvio Etor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save.
