In the 25th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Ocampo to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isak Lidman, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Isak Lidman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Isak Lidman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Isak Lidman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. Gordon Banks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hammarby Sjöstad IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. 57 minutes into the match, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 65 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Broman came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gordon Banks made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Edmundo Espiga sent off a good shot on target. Ivan Navarro lost his temper 72 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Honduras:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hammarby Sjöstad IF:s goal. In the 74th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Hammarby Sjöstad IF booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Espinar didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Isak Lidman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. Karl-Johan Petersson made in the 90th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Stefan Broman immediately put the ball in play. Luca Espinar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gordon Banks having to interfere. 93 minutes in the game Karl-Johan Petersson did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Stefan Broman. Bengt Bengtsson kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The Hammarby Sjöstad IF support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
