Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Fuerzas Armadas's Xerardo Amer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Oro Montes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 15 minutes into the match, Fuerzas Armadas's Eufrasio Aranzubia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Fuerzas Armadas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xerardo Amer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute Eufrasio Aranzubia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oro Montes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Xerardo Amer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Fuerzas Armadas's Xerardo Amer got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oro Montes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. After 39 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. In the 42nd minute, Gaizkine Armada got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th minute, Ecuador's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Xerardo Amer fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Quinto Nobo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Fuerzas Armadas's Mateo Bastida got his second yellow card of the match in the 52nd minute. The referee ordered Mateo Bastida off the ground. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Fuerzas Armadas's Gaizkine Armada. But to his dismay, Gaizkine Armada quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After having played for 61 minutes, Eufrasio Aranzubia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fuerzas Armadas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eufrasio Aranzubia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Buendia kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Gaizkine Armada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elvio Rivas kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xerardo Amer during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Fuerzas Armadas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xerardo Amer didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaizkine Armada in the 86th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fuerzas Armadas were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eufrasio Aranzubia took the corner. Gaizkine Armada struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fuerzas Armadas. The Fuerzas Armadas fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
