An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Puig in the 13th minute of play forced Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s goalkeeper Jose Laffitte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Firme in the 21st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Orvar Alegren dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 25th minute. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Orvar Alegren scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 3-0. In the 32nd minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Laffitte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orvar Alegren in the 37th minute of play. In the 41st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. Alan Moruga's late challenge caught a Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orvar Alegren was the one to do the kick off. Jose Laffitte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 53rd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 57 minutes, Jose Laffitte successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jose Laffitte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After taking down the ball on Costa Rica's corner Axel Tasis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jose Laffitte quite easily take care of the ball. In the 61st minute, Ulises Lesardo had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 62 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. Nicolae Petru struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ej. Hermosillo B.C.. 71 minutes into the game, Alexander Carballo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ej. Hermosillo B.C. the free kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Alexander Carballo hit a great ball. In the 74th minute, Orvar Alegren made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Donatello in the 78th minute of the match. The supporters of Ej. Hermosillo B.C. booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tom Murillo didn't quite understand what happened when in the 83 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. In the 87th match minute, Ej. Hermosillo B.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ceferino Jenaro to maneuver through the defense. Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s Jose Laffitte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Ej. Hermosillo B.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 94th minute Elano Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Elano Donatello had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elano Donatello was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ej. Hermosillo B.C. had played much better football throughout.
