Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Illescas took the kick off in the first half of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Fleming Wal in the 6th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas. Manly FC's John Aldridge got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Manly FC's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ray Clemence came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ray Clemence showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. John Aldridge could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Ray Clemence didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Alexander Arnold kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ray Clemence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If John Aldridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves John Aldridge could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Jonathan Ferrant however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 45 minutes, John Aldridge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manly FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Aldridge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. John Aldridge was the one to do the kick off. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Aldridge in the 54th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manly FC's Robbie Fowler was substituted for John Aldridge. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbie Fowler in the 91st minute of the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
