Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 40 minutes into the game, one of Ecuador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Bobby Bastard:s penalty. Bobby Bastard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Band Of Brothers's Evgenij Davydov was substituted for Carl Caniggia. 91 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Ciccarelli came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Band Of Brothers were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Patrik Billvall took the corner. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Band Of Brothers were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
