The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. In the 79th minute, Soren Terhorst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ludwig de Pelsmaecker stood somewhat misplaced when Joel Gaona came free in front of goal and shot 0-6 to the left of him in the 82 minute. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
