If Robert Juhlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute, Håkan Ekström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th match minute, Ciudad Tao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kalle Hafström to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Ciudad Tao FC defense, Felix Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sven-Åke Markusson. The Ciudad Tao FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sven-Åke Markusson should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sven-Åke Markusson. Sven-Åke Markusson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After having played for 31 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Juhlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th match minute, Ciudad Tao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonny Hansson to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Sven-Åke Markusson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 39th match minute, Ciudad Tao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kalle Hafström to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Ove Zachrisson sent off a good shot on target. Håkan Ekström hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ove Zachrisson made a kick off. The supporters of Ciudad Tao FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sven-Åke Markusson, 0-4. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Ciudad Tao FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Agustín Saelices scored to the left of an out of position Sven-Åke Markusson, making the score, 0-6. After having played for 68 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 73rd minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sven-Åke Markusson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. In the 83rd minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ove Zachrisson, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Sven-Åke Markusson made a huge save. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
