Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tibo Cromefeldt in the 6th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Fc Rossem got a freekick which was hit by Evert Lanphant. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Fc Rossem's goalkeeper Matias Colebrants had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Cristian Sancho scored 1-0 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Matias Colebrants, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lou Cromefeldt in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Evert Lanphant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tibo Cromefeldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tibo Cromefeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Cristian Sancho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Matias Colebrants when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Fc Rossem's Matias Colebrants got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 39th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lou Cromefeldt made a kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Vereect in the 52nd minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fc Rossem's goalkeeper Matias Colebrants, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Matias Colebrants tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 60 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lou Cromefeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 minutes, Evert Lanphant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fc Rossem and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 63 played minutes Fc Rossem got a freekick which was hit by Evert Lanphant. Matias Colebrants made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 71st minute of play. In the 76th minute, Tibo Cromefeldt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Matias Colebrants tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tibo Cromefeldt in the 82nd minute. Tibo Cromefeldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Matias Colebrants didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador.
