Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Club Puerto Quito's Rufino Giron started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Mauricio Precioso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauricio Precioso having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Mauricio Precioso made a huge save. Mauricio Precioso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute. After a rather tough play, Club Puerto Quito's Rufino Giron got a free kick in the 16th minute. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Mauricio Precioso made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Rufino Giron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Puerto Quito's supporters rose to their feet, but Rufino Giron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Club Puerto Quito's Mauricio Precioso got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The tension between the Club Puerto Quito and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. 45 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mauricio Precioso. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Mauricio Precioso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agustín Saelices's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Agustín Saelices put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mauricio Precioso. In the 53rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense.
