Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) FC Thierachern's Griffin Ferrante started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute Griffin Ferrante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Axel Tasis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florian Brechbühl. FC Thierachern's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Tasis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 15th minute, Axel Tasis made a precise shot to the right of Florian Brechbühl. FC Thierachern's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Benito Sanz had great luck who in the 21stth minute grab hold of the ball when Griffin Ferrante from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Florian Brechbühl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 played minutes FC Thierachern got a freekick which was hit by Laurentius Deschenes. In the 34th minute, Lautaro Puig ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Florian Brechbühl was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 36th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jim Leupi struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Thierachern. 39 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Florian Brechbühl made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Griffin Ferrante notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 56 minutes, Florus Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Thierachern's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florus Medina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florian Brechbühl didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Costa Rica's Axel Tasis shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-5 in the ordered_time% minute. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Florian Brechbühl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. Florian Brechbühl came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig. But to his dismay, Lautaro Puig quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. 80 minutes into the match, Axel Tasis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florian Brechbühl. FC Thierachern's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Tasis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-8. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Noboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florian Brechbühl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of FC Thierachern booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see FC Thierachern lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
