Arthur Saba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victoriano Abel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Victoriano Abel. 15 minutes into the match, Average Joes's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Victoriano Abel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Average Joes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils-Emil Gulliksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victoriano Abel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Average Joes's goalkeeper Victoriano Abel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Victoriano Abel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Average Joes's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Victoriano Abel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Saba in the 58th minute of play. In the 69th minute Average Joes were awarded a corner. Ganix Herrera went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Mattias Finnman managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The audience was convinced that Arthur Saba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Yavuz Bülent Özger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arthur Saba in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Saba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jeremias Silban's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Arthur Saba put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Saba in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Average Joes were awarded a corner. Ganix Herrera went to the cornerflag to take it. Average Joes's Arthur Saba was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Average Joes to leave the ground with a draw.
