The crowd rose to their feet as Loukas Bakogiannis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dante Lacasa. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. 8 minutes in the game Macos Graciani did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Luca Zorita. 15 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Loukas Bakogiannis. Remigio Micael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 16th minute of play. Acereros FC's Remigio Micael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Acereros FC's Loukas Bakogiannis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Loukas Bakogiannis could shoot a difficult shot in the 27th minute, which Dante Lacasa however easily saved by the left post. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Facundo Cadaval fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigio Micael having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Loukas Bakogiannis got free with Dante Lacasa in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Acereros FC's goalkeeper Remigio Micael, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Acereros FC's Remigio Micael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loukas Bakogiannis in the 44th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigio Micael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Alberto Tafalla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Remigio Micael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 65th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigio Micael saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Joel Gaona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Acereros FC made a substitution. Stathis Stoltidis replaced Christoffer Hesjedal. In the 70th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Gaona to maneuver through the defense. Acereros FC's Remigio Micael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 74th minute of play. Remigio Micael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remigio Micael made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 86 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Remigio Micael, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stathis Stoltidis in the 93rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Acereros FC throughout the match.
