But to his dismay, Patricio Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramón Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After 51 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramón Rocha was left in no man's land by his defense there! 54 minutes into the match, Kale SK's goalkeeper Ramón Rocha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Ramón Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. When the match was over Venezuela could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kale SK throughout the match.
