The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Cătălin Ostoici in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ayi Kusumah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, BuanaRaya's Cătălin Ostoici got control of the ball when Luz Tejedor tried to sneak it across the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Luisinho Trevisan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.
