Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauno Pirnes having to interfere. After 91 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kauno Pirnes was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Venezuela booed when Hidrocarburo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Manuel Fangio didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hidrocarburo FC had played much better football throughout.
