Everett Gerber scored 0-3 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marco Tamayo hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xurdin Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Casimiro Quinchen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Casimiro Quinchen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 22 minutes, Everett Gerber made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Xurdin Pena sped through El Salvador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. In the 35th minute Abram Luque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Everett Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xurdin Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xurdin Pena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Xurdin Pena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. In the 56th play minute Xurdin Pena came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ricardo Zorita. 0-10. In the 58th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateo Leguizamo to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Zorita was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Xurdin Pena capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Xurdin Pena really showed his touch with that goal: 0-11. In the 67th minute, Melandru de Cenero's Everett Gerber ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-13. 71 minutes into the game, Everett Gerber recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ricardo Zorita. Everett Gerber showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-14. Everett Gerber received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ricardo Zorita came out and tried to block the shot, but Everett Gerber slotted it home off the left post making it 0-15 in the 76th minute. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Everett Gerber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. Everett Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Melandru de Cenero's Xurdin Pena got a free kick in the 87th minute. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Xurdin Pena put it in 0-17 from a short distance just to the right of Ricardo Zorita.
