After a defensive mix-up in Green Zombies's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristinel Tomulescu came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Green Zombies's goalkeeper Cristinel Tomulescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Green Zombies's Cristinel Tomulescu got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristinel Tomulescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rdth minute of the game Zsigmond Tímár who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristinel Tomulescu made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Walter Carter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Green Zombies's Cristinel Tomulescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Green Zombies from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute. Ilie Zăvoiu tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Cristinel Tomulescu. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 43rd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristinel Tomulescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zsigmond Tímár recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristinel Tomulescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristinel Tomulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Green Zombies's Cristinel Tomulescu. Cristinel Tomulescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marius Prestin charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marius Prestin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Green Zombies's Mihály Hidegkúti was substituted for Zsigmond Tímár. After 72 played minutes Green Zombies got a freekick which was hit by Marius Prestin. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristinel Tomulescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristinel Tomulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute of play. Cristinel Tomulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Green Zombies booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mihály Hidegkúti. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
