Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hans Wery started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Ribera getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Edmondo Braccia hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Dalmacio Arixo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hans Wery struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ribera. Camilo Franco kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hans Wery during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The attack was good, but when Francisco Seco in the 26th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Hans Wery struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ribera. 35 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alessandro Del Bello. Francisco Seco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Alessandro Del Bello made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Maximiliano Escribano sent off a good shot on target. After 43 minutes of play, Uruguay's Francisco Seco made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alessandro Del Bello was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Eşref Tandoğan fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ribera's protests and gave Eşref Tandoğan a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Ribera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eşref Tandoğan didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kevin Carballal during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 53 minutes into the game, one of Uruguay:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Uruguay:s Joaquin Gayoso showed great skill when he stopped Angelo Cavanna:s penalty. Alessandro Del Bello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Hans Wery recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alessandro Del Bello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 63rd minute of play. In the 68th minute, Baltasar Pio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime Cazalla took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alessandro Del Bello. Ribera's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 70th minute of play forced Ribera's goalkeeper Alessandro Del Bello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amerigo Bolli kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Alessandro Del Bello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Eşref Tandoğan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 83rd minute of play forced Ribera's goalkeeper Alessandro Del Bello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 88th match minute, Ribera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltasar Pio to maneuver through the defense. Alessandro Del Bello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 92nd minute of the match. Alessandro Del Bello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. After 96 minutes Ribera's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaime Cazalla who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ribera's goalie and right to Alberto Gisbert. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ribera's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. There was no doubt that Uruguay were the better team. Uruguay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
