El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natan Coekx in the 17th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominic Colebrants, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's Wesley De Wever. Wesley De Wever was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin's Wesley De Wever proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Fernandino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Moises Fernandino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 53rd minute Moises Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wesley De Wever saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Moises Fernandino came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the El Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Fernandino couldn't finish the play. Abram Luque kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a free kick in the 61st minute. A collision led to Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Karel-Jan Biermans hit a great ball. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominic Colebrants in the 69th minute of play. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominic Colebrants didn't get a good kick on the ball. Moises Fernandino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Wesley De Wever tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin got a freekick which was hit by Bobby Gyselincx. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karel-Jan Biermans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henk Van Cauwenbergh made in the 82nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Natan Coekx. In the 83rd match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute of the match, Dominic Colebrants tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ricardo Zorita saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Teun Van Heurick hit a great ball. Wesley De Wever showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Luque in the 92nd minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The El Salvador fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vlaamse Voetbal Verenigin had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
