Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Agustín Saelices advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-2 in the 14th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matheus Guerreiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gil Seixas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Revuelta having to interfere. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Gil Seixas sent off a good shot on target. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gil Seixas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59thth minute of the game Gil Seixas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Gil Seixas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Eduardo Revuelta in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, MILAN F C's Ksawery Buczko got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The long shot by Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute really tested Eduardo Revuelta's skills. Ecuador played a much better game than MILAN F C and deserved their victory. The MILAN F C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
