The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Henrique Arruda in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yuri Pires in the 12th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Arruda having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Valladares came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrique Arruda came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Henrique Arruda, 2-0. Carlos Eduardo Mineiro hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 27th minute of play forced MEL - ULTIMATE's goalkeeper Henrique Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Wiliam Marinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Wiliam Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Henrique Arruda in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renan Valladares, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by MEL - ULTIMATE's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that MEL - ULTIMATE's Henrique Arruda managed to reach the ball for a save.

Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by MEL - ULTIMATE's Yuri Pires. But to his dismay, Yuri Pires quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 54th minute Yuri Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jailson Fernandez got free with Julio Vera in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Henrique Arruda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind MEL - ULTIMATE's goalkeeper Henrique Arruda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 66th minute. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jailson Fernandez in the 68th minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when MEL - ULTIMATE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yuri Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henrique Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renan Valladares in the 73rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 82 minutes into the match, Renan Valladares notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. In the 95th minute, MEL - ULTIMATE's Yuri Pires dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. When the final whistle went the supporters of MEL - ULTIMATE were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Ecuador side.
