Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantin Ciolacu having to interfere. Constantin Ciolacu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Paris Saint-Germain's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Constantin Ciolacu came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Constantin Ciolacu made a huge save. After 22 played minutes Paris Saint-Germain got a freekick which was hit by Viktoras Siozos. Constantin Ciolacu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Daniel Zorita. 24 minutes into the match, Zebastian Soned notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 28 minutes into the match, Paris Saint-Germain's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Constantin Ciolacu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Paris Saint-Germain's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Constantin Ciolacu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Paris Saint-Germain's Viriato lacerda got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Constantin Ciolacu made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Constantin Ciolacu threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 37thth minute, Constantin Ciolacu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato lacerda in the 39th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Constantin Ciolacu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. When Felix Montes fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Felix Montes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Constantin Ciolacu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Constantin Ciolacu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Constantin Ciolacu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 66th minute. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Constantin Ciolacu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 81st minute of play. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Constantin Ciolacu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Paris Saint-Germain's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Constantin Ciolacu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zebastian Soned in the 94th minute of play. Chants of Paris Saint-Germain echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Ecuador had held the ball for most of the match.
