The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Constantin Bădila had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Constantin Bădila was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Petruț Arapașu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Cristian Bociort hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Leontin Hârtopanu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Petruț Arapașu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Sebastián Puig made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s Petruț Arapașu managed to reach the ball for a save. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Petruț Arapașu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Petruț Arapașu. Petruț Arapașu came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 44th minute of play forced ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s goalkeeper Petruț Arapașu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th match minute, ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihai Musta to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luis Andino scored 1-3 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petruț Arapașu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Petruț Arapașu came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luis Andino. But to his dismay, Luis Andino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. In the 68th minute of the match, Felix Montenegro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Petruț Arapașu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Petruț Arapașu made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. 72 minutes into the game, ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s Constantin Bădila nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Petruț Arapașu made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Juan Sebastián Puig fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Petruț Arapașu quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihai Musta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petruț Arapașu having to interfere. With a little luck, ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s Petruț Arapașu got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s goalkeeper Petruț Arapașu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. 90 minutes into the game, Constantin Bădila cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd play minute Daniel Zorita came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Petruț Arapașu. 3-5. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
