The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Delmiro Pello despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Delmiro Pello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, KARADENİZ FIRTINASI's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Delmiro Pello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when KARADENİZ FIRTINASI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alpertunga Mennan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Delmiro Pello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

KARADENİZ FIRTINASI's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 56th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Haşim Muhsin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
