Cassius Byrne was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Jacob May managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Jacob May made in the 19th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Cassius Byrne immediately put the ball in play. In the 21st minute, Franco Fortunato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Attilio Pani to strike the kick off in the second half. If Zach Harrison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Aquilino, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Válter Tasso made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Cassius Byrne sent off a good shot on target. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Lucchetta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 played minutes forsal FC got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Eneto. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Válter Tasso in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Válter Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 64th minute of play. Attilio Bordon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute Alfonso Aquilino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Monty Rogers came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Monty Rogers couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válter Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Sam Campbell managed to get in a good position for a shot. USA's supporters rose to their feet, but Sam Campbell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Válter Tasso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. forsal FC's Elia Bucciarelli was substituted for Franco Fortunato. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. USA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
