Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Shao Jing Yuan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santa Fe's Shao Jing Yuan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Santa Fe's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Shao Jing Yuan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Shao Jing Yuan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute.

Santa Fe made a substitution. Santi Ogazón replaced Rolando Madaleno. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Godofredo Rik was the one to do the kick off. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Shao Jing Yuan made a huge save. Godofredo Rik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Shao Jing Yuan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th minute Romulo Lalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute of the match Santa Fe got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rigoberto Lobo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Rigoberto Lobo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Shao Jing Yuan made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shao Jing Yuan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Godofredo Rik came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agustín Saelices did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Shao Jing Yuan 92 minutes into the match. In the 95thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa Fe's Shao Jing Yuan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Santa Fe throughout the match.
