After a defensive mix-up in AYYILDIZ's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Göktürk Semin came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute, Gregorio Ruiz made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 12 minutes into the game, Peru's Luz Tejedor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Göktürk Semin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Göktürk Semin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 22nd minute of play. In the 28th minute Antonio Romino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ali Nejat Atay made in the 32nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 38th minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Göktürk Semin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Julian Murillo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 46 minute of play.

In the 71st minute of the match AYYILDIZ got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alp Arslan ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on AYYILDIZ's corner Alp Arslan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. Eliseo Mina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Göktürk Semin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Antonio Tenorio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Göktürk Semin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Peru players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
