Zak Foggarty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Racing Club Canillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trev Holden didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Racing Club Canillo's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Zak Foggarty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zenon Cisek in the 58th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Club Canillo's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zak Foggarty came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 62 minutes into the match, Racing Club Canillo's goalkeeper Zak Foggarty had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. In the 63rd match minute, Racing Club Canillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graham Pullen to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luis Andino got free with Zak Foggarty in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the game, Racing Club Canillo's Zenon Cisek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Zak Foggarty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute Zenon Cisek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zenon Cisek in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Tom Clemence fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zenon Cisek in the 82nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 93rd minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3.
