The supporters of Bolivia booed when The Pontiac Bandit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernabe Sotero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eduardo Fontirroig took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jairo Unai. Jairo Unai dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. The Pontiac Bandit's Godfredo Lizbeth managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ismael Tejedor in the 46 minute of the game.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luis Avellaneda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jairo Unai made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. Jairo Unai was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Mario Fernandino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mario Fernandino really showed his touch with that goal: 1-8. After a defensive mix-up in The Pontiac Bandit's zone, Eduardo Fontirroig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Unai came out of the goal and Eduardo Fontirroig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes into the game, Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Ferrant in the 79th minute of play forced The Pontiac Bandit's goalkeeper Jairo Unai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
