The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Valar's Emmanuel Canturri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 16th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Mambru, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 22 minutes into the match, The Valar's goal looked a bit too open when Milagros Fraga came free, but Emmanuel Canturri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Manwë Vala scored to the left of an out of position Rolando Noboa, making the score, 1-0. In the 32nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emmanuel Canturri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luz Tejedor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Emmanuel Canturri made a huge save. In the 59th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emmanuel Canturri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, The Valar's William Rigg got a free kick in the 66th minute. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alfred Hajto in the 68 minute of the game. Emmanuel Canturri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th match minute, The Valar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marian Otopeanu to maneuver through the defense. Julian Murillo took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emmanuel Canturri. Emmanuel Canturri dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. It was joyful for the audience to see Eliseo Mina dribbling past the opponents defense line in the 88th played minute and put the ball into the net. 1-3. In the 92nd minute, William Rigg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Peru booed when The Valar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manwë Vala didn't get a good kick on the ball.
