Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Neal Weatherby took the kick off in the first half of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Neal Weatherby came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Kerville took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Gisbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Kerville saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Elderslie Magpies's Ovidio Etxekopar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Neal Weatherby kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. In the 22ndth minute of the game Francisco Seco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Elderslie Magpies's Christian Kerville was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 26 played minutes Elderslie Magpies got a freekick which was hit by Sam Mccartan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 27th minute of play forced Elderslie Magpies's goalkeeper Christian Kerville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Neal Weatherby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Kerville made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Ovidio Etxekopar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute of the match Pere Villanueva sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Gayoso skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Steven Chaptal tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, Elderslie Magpies's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Christian Kerville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The wind increased when Francisco Seco made the kick off in the second half. Kevin Carballal's late challenge caught a Elderslie Magpies's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kevin Carballal helped the player get up and apologised. After 51 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Uruguay! The referee gave Elderslie Magpies a penalty, 52 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Neal Weatherby, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Steven Chaptal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Steven Chaptal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Christian Kerville tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Christian Kerville managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Uruguay's Francisco Seco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 64 minutes Elderslie Magpies's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaime Cazalla who took care of the corner kick. Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Christian Kerville in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Christian Kerville in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 76 minutes, Ralph Gorham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Elderslie Magpies and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. Steven Chaptal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Gayoso having to make a save. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovidio Etxekopar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82ndth minute of the game Francisco Seco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Elderslie Magpies's Christian Kerville was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arturo Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 91st minute of the match Uruguay got a corner. Elderslie Magpies's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaime Cazalla ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jaime Cazalla made a great header on Uruguay's corner, it was just that Elderslie Magpies's Christian Kerville managed to reach the ball for a save. Francisco Seco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christian Kerville having to make a save. Uruguay were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
