Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when SV Wissenkerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gertjan Baars didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frits van Loo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Mariano Bombarda took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Hugo Ferrant fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Hugo Ferrant a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Costa Rica! Gerjan Staarman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 26 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. The long shot by Mariano Bombarda in the 27th minute really tested Benito Sanz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 27th minute, SV Wissenkerke's Jean-Paul Schuiling ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 31st minute, Jean-Paul Schuiling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 39 minutes of play, SV Wissenkerke's Mariano Bombarda made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

SV Wissenkerke's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. After a rather tough play, SV Wissenkerke's Casper Tinselboer got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Gertjan Baars received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gertjan Baars, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Gertjan Baars ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean-Paul Schuiling in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. SV Wissenkerke's Frits van Loo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save SV Wissenkerke from getting a goal against them. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sylvan Baggio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute, Mariano Bombarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the game, Abel Carballo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SV Wissenkerke the free kick. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 88th minute. After 89 played minutes, SV Wissenkerke's Mariano Bombarda shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benito Sanz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SV Wissenkerke reached it. SV Wissenkerke's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
