Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Ötüken Türk Gücü's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. In the 11th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, Bayram Sati hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute, Sanid Škoro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 25 minutes into the game, Jonathan Venegas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ötüken Türk Gücü the free kick. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Ötüken Türk Gücü was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hulki Sungur didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 29 minutes into the match, Patricio Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubio Zalaya. Ötüken Türk Gücü's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patricio Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 35 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sanid Škoro struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ötüken Türk Gücü. 39 minutes into the match, Ötüken Türk Gücü's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Rubio Zalaya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's Jose Correa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Yücel Özakıncı, made in the 43rd minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Faik Uludoğan struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ötüken Türk Gücü. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Marick Jonge's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marick Jonge helped the player get up and apologised. After 77 played minutes Ötüken Türk Gücü got a freekick which was hit by Marick Jonge. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Rubio Zalaya skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 82 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubio Zalaya. Ötüken Türk Gücü's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Sinan Keremşah kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After 88 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Rubio Zalaya in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Venezuela's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
