Bajen's Johan Johansson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 17th minute. When Sidney Porto came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Bajen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sidney Porto couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nick Pope saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes Bajen got a freekick which was hit by Nicklas Trøjgaard. In the 27th minute, Marcus Norberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 33 minutes, Sidney Porto made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Johan Johansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Fazıl Hüsnü Toygun took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 72ndth minute of the game Bernardo Caballero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 76th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Bajen's Svante Forsberg was substituted for Nicklas Trøjgaard.
