Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Perez having to interfere. With a little luck, Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Avery Merrill kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 40th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Santos Perez could save by the left post. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Avery Merrill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez. Santos Perez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Léopold Castro in the 66th minute of play. Santos Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Persepolis F.C.'s Danny Craig was substituted for Ildefonso Harkaitz. Persepolis F.C. made a substitution. Andy Duff replaced Gwidon Seliga. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Santos Perez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Santos Perez didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Mexico's Alberto Tafalla shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 81st minute of play.
