FC Polonia Nürnberg's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thibaut Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Thibaut Courtois came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Abraham Alguacil. But to his dismay, Abraham Alguacil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Aaron Barrios hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Brilhante in the 16th minute of play. 1. FC Polonia Nürnberg's Thibaut Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Cambeiro to maneuver through the defense. Miguel Miralles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thibaut Courtois having to make a save. Herbert Tullius kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diamantino Brilhante got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to 1. FC Polonia Nürnberg getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Fahrudin Zaidović hit a great ball. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fahrudin Zaidović in the 38th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Diamantino Brilhante could shoot a difficult shot in the 42nd minute, which Marcos Cotilla however easily saved by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as 1. FC Polonia Nürnberg's Fahrudin Zaidović slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 1-1 after 43 minutes of play. In the 46th minute, Tomas Berganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fahrudin Zaidović took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diamantino Brilhante made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Martinsson in the 54th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carsten Zeitzmann in the 57th minute of the match. FC Polonia Nürnberg's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Thibaut Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Sarmiento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thibaut Courtois breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carsten Zeitzmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th match minute, 1. FC Polonia Nürnberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fahrudin Zaidović to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Panama's Abraham Alguacil got a free kick in the 78th minute. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilja Keute, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. The supporters of 1. FC Polonia Nürnberg booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Alguacil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aaron Barrios kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Dylan Sarmiento hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. 89 minutes into the match, 1. FC Polonia Nürnberg's Diamantino Brilhante broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. A collision led to 1.
