Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Márcio Seabra in the 2nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Luiz Leo sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Leo struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canarinho Atordoado. In the 9th minute, Peter Mpenza made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 11th minute, Luiz Leo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 15 minutes of play, Canarinho Atordoado's Márcio Seabra made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Teodoro Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Luiz Leo sent off a good shot on target. Canarinho Atordoado's Anísio Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 28th minute, Canarinho Atordoado's Márcio Seabra dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Leo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Luiz Leo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute, Peter Mpenza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canarinho Atordoado fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Mpenza in the 45th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Peter Mpenza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 8-0 in the 45 minute of play. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luiz Leo made a kick off. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Jacinto in the 51st minute of the match. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tuncer İlbaşı went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Peter Mpenza went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 11-0 was the resulting score. Luiz Leo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Leo's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Costa Rica's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Peter Mpenza was slow to take the kick. During this time Canarinho Atordoado's players had a chance to rest. Peter Mpenza made a great header on Canarinho Atordoado's corner, it was just that Costa Rica's Benito Sanz managed to reach the ball for a save. Juan Rubio charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Rubio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Canarinho Atordoado booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peter Mpenza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. When Canarinho Atordoado's Peter Mpenza in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Mpenza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Peter Mpenza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. After having played for 86 minutes, Peter Mpenza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canarinho Atordoado's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter Mpenza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peter Mpenza might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peter Mpenza ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter Mpenza in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. When the referee ended the match the Canarinho Atordoado players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
