Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevan Brossier in the 21st minute of play. After 22 played minutes Charly Boisson rounded Venezuela's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. Evan Le Moullec could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evan Le Moullec, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 38th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evan Le Moullec in the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Chaponnay FC's Charly Boisson in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a defensive mix-up in Chaponnay FC's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moïse Girerd came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute Kevan Brossier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Evan Le Moullec kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Tanguy Caudrelier kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. The referee ignored Chaponnay FC's protests and gave Luis Andreu a yellow card for diving instead. After 85 minutes of play, Chaponnay FC's Noureddine Ridard made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Chaponnay FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Moïse Girerd skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Noureddine Ridard scored 5-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Venezuela's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Chaponnay FC had won, even though Venezuela had held more of the ball.
